Decrees for 2014

Here is a post from FB that I felt was most apropos for today:

Heavenly Father,

I speak today for all who stop to read this prayer. Each and every person, each individual, Father, each man and woman ,young and old, rich and poor. Father, reach down from your Throne Room in Heaven Father God, as I lift them up before and make these decrees on their behalf.

I decree strength when they become weak. Strength when they become weary with the tribulations of life; the problems and circumstances. I decree that they will never allow the spirit of hopelessness and suicide to overtake them.

I rebuke spirits of depression, rejection, oppression, fear, anguish in the name of Jesus. I decree health and healing, Divine health. I decree that each person will enter into divine health in the Name of Jesus. I decree that they will become strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Strong in Spirit, mind and body. I decree that with each step they take towards the presence of God, they will become stronger, more secure in Him.

I decree a greater revelation of God's authority to each person reading this. That each person reading this will come to have a greater knowledge and understanding of the authority of God, and the authority He gives to each of us through His Son Jesus Christ.

I decree each person will walk in greater power, greater authority, greater anointing as they move closer and closer to the presence of the Father. I decree that each person reading this will see great victories over the enemy in 2014. I decree that each will move to a position of victory in every area of their life. I decree financial breakthroughs, I decree that the spirits of poverty and lack will be broken over their lives and I decree that as we move into new and greater prosperity, we will bless, bless, bless the Kingdom of God, and God will continue the cycle of blessing us as we bless His Kingdom.

I decree that each person reading this will experience a new level of peace in 2014. I decree the peace only our Lord Jesus can give; a level of peace they have never before experienced, and when they experience it, I decree it will remain. I decree that the peace of Jesus Christ becomes a habitation.

I decree that 2014 will be a year like no other. A year of breakthrough, a year of victory, a year of blessing and prosperity, a year of peace. I decree it, in the Name of Jesus. This is My Apostolic Decree for 2014 and beyond for the people of the Kingdom of God, and I decree it before all of eternity. I decree that it is so, in Jesus name. Amen. Hallelujah!!!

Prophetic Word, 9 December

Good Morning All:

Heard the Lord say....."It is already done."

Those of you that are waiting on the Lord, be encouraged that He is perfecting those things that concern us. No matter what it is, you can trust that His resolution of the matter will be on time.

~Walk with your head up in confidence that God has heard you on high. ~

As I sat and contemplated the words that the Lord spoke today, I realized  that His words...IT IS ALREADY DONE!!! is a mindset and spiritual shift!!!

He is telling us to walk in the promises that He has give us and TRUST Him! Situations may not have changed, but your perspective as the royal priesthood should be transitioned over from HOPING or WISHING, to KNOWING that your Father in heaven has heard and will respond accordingly.

News Flash: Just because you don't know how it is going to happen doesn't mean that it is NOT going to happen!!!!

~Keep moving forward, do not be distracted, and do NOT let the past haunt you!!~

~There is NO need for a 20 year prayer vigil....Walk it out with faith!! God is a promise keeper and you can take that to the bank~

Truthful Tuesday! 10 December

Truthful Tuesday:

I cannot find one verse or passage of scripture that ceases the gift of apostle or prophet. Nor can I find anything that states that pastors (shepherds), evangelists, or teachers still remain without the first two. If two are gone, they are ALL gone..and vice versa.

However, the bible does state that all five of these gifts were given to the body of Christ for the following circumstance:
......"His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church),
[That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him." (Ephesians 4:12-13 AMP)

News Flash!! We are NOT there yet!! If this is maturity.....

I often hear people who disagree say that their error is between them and God. Welp, they are involved now because they're teaching error.

Yet again, if someone can specifically point out where God has said no apostles or prophets "after the bible was written," I will recant and humbly apologize. All super duper "revelations" and religiosity can have a seat!

True Apostles and Prophets....Rock on and Rise up! Be encouraged! God's approval and power will vindicate! Keep standing and know you're NOT crazy!

Prophetic Word, 15 November 2013

The Lord says that the darkness is shrieking back!

Dear Heavenly Father,

We give you honor and glory for who You are. We bless You for the light that You've placed in us. We thank you for the ability to drive out the darkness. We thank You for the strategic plans to move forward in freedom in every aspect of life. In Jesus name...Amen.

I see darkness moving..it's like the waves moving away from the shore... folding...and turning back in the spirit. And just like the waves that wash upon the shore....the darkness had limited time and reach into your lives!  It has NO choice but to withdraw!  Yes Lord!!!

I see the darkness moving away from your situations. Keep standing!! Don't give up! Don't give in!

Don't stop believing..trusting...praying...standing...and obeying!

Perspective is Everything!

~Perspective determines your sight!~

Me: Good Morning

Other person: *Sighs deeply...Its a morning.

Me: Aww what's wrong?

Other person: Well its Monday?

Me: So.....that automatically makes it "a morning?"

Other person: Well...you know.

Me: Nope, I don't. Here's what I do know. You got up this morning. There's a three day weekend coming up and you are on this side of the dirt as the old saying goes.

Other person: Oh yeah! Grins big...

Me: (Walks away and comes back): And...Thanksgiving is a week after that...I'm sure you'll eat a lot...hang out with family and take some additional time off as well....

Other person: That's right! Thank you!

Me: Welcome. ..remember to always look at the bright side! Its easy to see what's wrong. Focus on what you do have.

A Monday on this side of the dirt does me just fine because I will have a great day on purpose!  You do the same! Love and peace! ♡♥♡

Philippians 4:8 KJV
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Disapproval and Acceptance

Wisdom Thought: Disapproval and total acceptance is possible. The two are not mutually exclusive. Both terms address the present and/or permanent reality that exists.

For example, I accept people unconditionally and still not approve of something they are doing. Love is not limited like that. Love also means telling a person the truth. Telling the truth in love is a two part command. It's not all candy and roses and agreement. Correction and accountability is a part of love.

This is crux of a real relationship right here.....it is probably where that saying comes from.."hate the sin, love the sinner." However, I've seen this go wrong, a lot on blame on both parts...the receiver calls it judgemental..sometimes it is...but the truth does sting...the giver is harsh, overbearing, and may even give a life sentence in their heads..

However, once its been addressed, life should go on. No human on this earth has a heaven or hell to put anyone in. Move on with it. Focus that energy on love... Everyone has to answer for their own decisions in the end. Yet, we're (God's people) are assigned to ensure that everyone makes an informed decision.

Be blessed on purpose!

TWELVE DIFFERENT KINDS OF APOSTOLIC LEADERS By: Joseph Mattera

This writing really struck a cord with me, so I wanted to share it with you...

I have been in the apostolic movement since the late 1980’s and have observed many kinds of apostolic leaders. By “apostolic” I am referring to a person who functions in the apostolic ministry gift as mentioned in Ephesians 4:11. They may also oversee an apostolic church that exerts great influence in their community, and/or lead a network of churches.

One size definitely doesn’t fit all in the apostolic, or in any of the other ministry gifts for that matter! They all have different modes of operation and/or function as well as different motivational gifts and bents. Of course, any true apostolic leader may have one or more of the following characteristics.

The following are the different kinds of apostolic leaders I have observed:

1. The Connecting Apostle

These apostolic leaders are like the Apostle Barnabas mentioned in the Book of Acts. Barnabas was always connecting people together and was the one responsible for connecting Saul (later on he became the great Apostle Paul) to the Jerusalem church (Acts 9:26-27). These leaders love networking key people together, function with a strong heart of mercy (they give people second and third chances; read Acts 15:37-39), and have an amazing understanding of where to place people for the maximization of their gifts and callings.

This kind of leader also has a burden for unifying the Body of Christ and are adept at creating horizontal networks or associations of leaders in their regions, either for fellowship or to fulfill a joint mission (hence they are usually quite ecumenical).

2. The Truth Apostle

Paul the Apostle focused on teaching the truth and was committed to maturing people in the faith through his teaching ministry (Colossians 1:24-29). These are scholarly leaders who write much and attract people into their networks of influence through their great scholarship and practical insight. They also major on quality, doctrine and developing covenantal systems of engagement within their circles of influence.

What separates these from others with mere theological theory is their ability to form strong coalitions with high-level commitment to fulfilling the kingdom mandate of spreading the gospel.

3. The Prophetic Apostle

These are intuitive, spontaneous leaders who have an amazing ability to think quickly with words of wisdom from the Lord. They are great visionaries and dreamers and think ahead of the curve and have a great gift of exhortation and/or preaching extemporaneously. With their great gift of motivation, they are able to attract many leaders into their spheres of influence.

4. The Military Apostle

These are like military generals in the Body of Christ who create hierarchical networks with a strong top-down leadership approach. They usually lead strong vertical networks with high commitment and are not really interested in participating in ecumenical associations (unless it fits their particular agenda or they lead it). This is because they are so focused on their purpose and lack patience and grace to work with other strong leaders who have a different view of the church or who do not want to submit to their leadership.

5. The Cultural Apostle

These apostolic leaders attract leaders into their networks because of political/social issues such as traditional marriage, abortion, immigration, social justice and the like. They have a prophetic bent and are also great unifiers of like-minded leaders.

6. The Signs and Wonders Apostle

These apostolic leaders are like the Apostle Peter who spread the gospel by the use of extraordinary signs and wonders through the gift of faith (Acts 5:15). These leaders can draw great crowds, build large churches, and regularly take risks of faith regarding finances, building bigger buildings, as well as helping others walk in the supernatural. They will draw other pastors and leaders into their networks who are hungry for the supernatural.

7. The Community Apostle

These apostolic leaders dive into the economic, social and political lives of their communities with a goal of shepherding their cities, not just a congregation. Many of these leaders create programs that serve their communities with their churches or networks becoming key agents of change for surrounding areas.

8. The Missiological Apostle

This apostolic leader is focused on statistics, trends, demographics and cultural relevance, and helps lead innovative networks and/or organizations that lead the global charge to spread the gospel. They are very scholarly and introspective yet brilliant leaders who are totally focused upon kingdom expansion for the glory of God. They are great lecturers in conferences and provide a great service for the Body of Christ at large as they, like the sons of Issachar (1 Chron. 12:32), understand the times and know what the church ought to do.

9. The Shepherding Apostle

This is an apostolic leader who is more focused upon the lives of the leaders of their network than upon having a corporate mission. They have a paternal anointing and take the most joy in washing the feet of their sons and daughters so they fulfill their vision and destiny! This is perhaps the most lacking apostolic leader in the church today since there is a dearth in the church regarding true apostolic spiritual parenting.

10. The Entrepreneurial Apostle

This kind of apostolic leader is a hyphenated leader with a dual ministry of church and business who creates wealth through initiatives that support the work of the Kingdom of God. This kind of entrepreneurial ability attracts many leaders who desire an impartation from them so they can also be prosperous in everything they touch!

11. The Statesman Apostle

This kind of apostolic leader is a very wise person who is able to represent the Kingdom of God to other denominations and those in the political and social realms. They are generally very ecumenical and have a ministry of reconciliation and are sometimes called upon to be peacemakers between opposing groups. These leaders are usually respected by Christian and non-Christian alike and are by nature very ecumenical.

12. The Intercessory Apostle

These apostolic leaders spend much time in prayer and engage in high-level spiritual warfare so light can break through in dark places. They are able to attract enough people to start large organized networks of pastors and leaders who believe their main calling is to expand the kingdom through prayer and spiritual warfare strategies. What separates these from typical prophetic intercessors is that they not only have a great gift of prayer but also are able to create influential networks of prayer leaders.

In closing, many leaders I know probably stand in about three to four of the categories above. These twelve kinds were written for the sake of clarity but not meant to legalistically confine our thinking in such a way that limits our perspective regarding apostolic leadership. Also, there are probably many other categories others could think of, which would further complicate and mesh various anointing and ministry functions together.

Don't Live In a Glass House and Throw Stones

There is way too much control in the body of Christ when folks want to tell people what to watch on TV.

While I am all about order and holiness- I am believe that the power of the Holy Spirit is greater than man-made rules.

I've watched people who watch Scandal criticize people who watch LA Preachers. Are you kidding me? Hello pot. This is kettle. Over.

Do I watch these shows? No. Have I watched something that may be questionable to others? Yep. Will  people going to hell for watching them? Nope. We are to workout our own salvation with fear and trembling. I refuse to personally watch LA Preachers because the producers are looking to produce drama- not show the redemptive work of Christ. Tried to watch Scandal, but I'm just not cool with condoning a marital affair. But that's my thoughts. I can't push that on others......and NEITHER should any other leader.

Now...we should guide and help follk, but Christ's leadership on earth is not the holy police- at least I'm NOT going to do it. I am a firm believer that if you teach folks to hear the Holy Spirit and move out of the way.....they will move forward in greatness.

It is something to be said about what you watch, but we have to remember that these are still adults. The main reason why the body is still on milk is because some of the leaders need to shift them!! Present consequences and let them take responsibility for their own actions. They will have to be the ones answering for them anyway.

No Limits!

The transformational power of Jesus is unlimited! He can and has brought people out of the darkest places, every sin imaginable, and recovered those that many had deemed lost.

How do I know? Because I am one of them....

With God, all things are possible and nothing is impossible. So glad to serve a God who doesn't give up on us even when people (including ourselves) given up.

I never want to hear of someone being too far gone...as long as there is breath, there is hope. God is a God of handling tough cases...

My advice to those who look upon people and say..."I don't believe they have been changed, or can be changed, etc" is for you to take a look in the mirror. If He can change you....surely He can do it again. Besides your job is to show them the light and pray to God that they get it right!

My Family Shoutout..

I am so proud of Shaquir, Mike, and Faith! They all started the school year out strong and brought in excellent grades. An excellent gift to their father...no fussing on his special day! ;)

This is where I am so blessed to have my husband. He stays on them. He visits the schools and stays involved. He humbled himself and became a servant and provider to his family in a non-traditional way, but it was the way God required for our family.

I know that God is going to bless Him beyond measure for his obedience and standing when he himself didn't understand and did the right thing in spite of harsh criticisms spoken or unspoken....I am extremely proud of him. I decree uncommon favor and redeemed time over his life in Jesus name! Priceless blessing!

A Source of Rejuvination: Family Hangout!

This weekend, our family went to the local Golf and Stuff. We played 18 holes of mini golf and 30 minutes of laser tag as well as some arcade games. It was fun. I had some hole in one putts and I think I lost weight running around after my husband and kids in the 6,000 sq ft. laser tag arena. Perhaps I should have stretched before I started. Lol.

After four hours of hanging out- I realized that I hadn't thought about the affects of the government shutdown, personnel issues, chaos or any of the issues (or people) that try to take control of my life. We normally set aside a night for family game time at least once a week, but we've been missing it a lot lately due to a myriad of issues...It was beginning to turn into a distant memory. My kids dropped not so subtle hints that they missed their nights. And we all promised to do better.

This weekend served as a reminder that we need times of rest, relaxation and quality time as a unit...a time to get away from it all. It doesn't have be expensive or cost anything. We've had many family nights at home playing Monopoly or Uno or the Wii.

Let this serve as a reminder that we can all use a little time out of the "Matrix" of our normal lives. Set aside a time to hang with your family and protect it as sacred. Rotate who chooses the activities. It's okay to hang out and have fun..especially as a family. We only get one shot at their childhood and as this phase starting to come to a close in our childrens life...I wanted to be sure that we created some memories that they could carry with them forever.

Starting out may be awkward, but press through it. Everyone will be better off for it. ♡♥♡♥♡♥

God factors it all in....

There are so many people feeling like they have lost their way.Often we hear people say that we miss God here or we missed God there. And it may be true...

However, our Father is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. Did we not think that He is smart enough to factor our mishaps and mistakes into the plans for our lives?

~His ways our not like our ways.

~He always keeps His promises.

~He is our Source; NOT our circumstances.

~He is too big to be missed!

~He works it all out for our good!!!

Do not let the past mistakes tell you that your life is over or that His plan for you will fail...Do not let condemnation or guilt rule you.....God is faithful and will keep His word. Dust yourself off, get up, and keep moving my brothers and sisters in Christ! The beginning may have not been great, but everyday is a new day to rise up and finish strong! Be blessed on purpose, overcomers of God!

Shutdown Thoughts and Prayer

For those who will be affected by the goverment shutdown, know that I am praying for you.

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber...." Psalms 121:1

For the ones who have just recovered from furlough and are now entering another version of it....just as He has already proven- you shall live and not die! Know that God has you in His hands.

For the ones who are mandated to work and are receiving the "we'll pay you when a decision is made" letter, trust that God is the ultimate source.

For those that are in a holding pattern and may be working until funding is exhausted, trust that God is in control!

I am sure that there are other scenarios that I have missed, but in all of them, God's words states: "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." -Psalms 37:25

Stressing and worrying will only make you sick. Do what you need to do to make it through. If that includes calling creditors and making them apprised of the situation, so be it. If that means cutting back. So be it.

Look out for each other. Check on each other. I have heard about one suicide already. Be mindful of family members that may be going through this and do what you can to help. Don't wait for them to ask. I am so grateful to those of you who have called to check on me and my family today already.

Remember that God's words states that: ""When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." Isaiah 43:2 (KJV)

It may get a little hot, but you'll come out as pure gold! Remember I am praying and if I can help, let me know. Love you all to life for life!

A prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up the people in this situation up to you. We know that You sit high but You look low. Your word states that You will perfect those things that concern us. We lay this situation at Your feet. Although man thinks he is in control, we know that You are in control. There is NOTHING that has escaped Your eye. We trust that all things will work out for the good of those who love You and who are called according to Your purpose. Though the government has failed, You never fail us. We thank You Lord, in advance for strategies, tools to reduce and restructure, as well as opening the door for different streams of income and provision. By the power of Jesus, we take authority over the spirit of suicide and release Your word! We declare that Your voice is the voice that we will follow and that of a stranger we will not. We pray that the eyes and ears of believers are closed to the enemy in the name of Jesus. We do not look onto our situation as the final say! You are the author and finisher of our faith! We will stand strong in You, In Jesus name, amen.

Shake the Weight!

....Think it not strange that a shifting is occurring in your life...it seems as if everything is shaking loose in your life....including people! It doesn't mean that these people are bad or evil-although some may be-....it just means that their season in your life is UP.  Release it all.....we need to loose anything that continues to weigh us down or doesn't propel us forward. At the end of this shaking, your foundation will be renewed and reset.

Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us..."

~Trust in Him with everything, not just selected things. He wants to commune with us....

~Idols (paychecks, people, government, etc) have to go! He is THE source and not just a resource to tap at our convenience.

He is here to break every chain. He's been there before for you and He'll do it again. He is the consistent on time God worthy of our love, trust, and honor!

Filling the Gap

Filling the Gap: There are many amongst us that are experiencing a void in their lives. Human beings are born with a need to worship. Most are filling the void with something else....a spouse....food...sports....jobs...money..the list goes on.

As a witness, I declare that nothing can fulfill the void like God can. Many people would wonder why God would create a people to just to worship Him?! Many have stated that this is weird... That's a great question...

Think of worship as a homing signal; a tracker....the GPS built inside of you to get HOME to Him. Note that all GPS systems have a programmable home button....what is your home button set to?

Everyone is worshipping something. The ultimate question is what? The key to finding out what you worship is to assess what you spend most of your waking moments pursuing. Where ever your treasure is....your heart is there also.

When we worship God- it lifts our spirits and refocuses us on what's important. As His sons and daughters, our worship is to reverence and honor Him just as we need to honor our natural parents.  It is not a prison sentence, but the process to understand His heart and plans for us.

Be blessed!

Unoffendable

There have been many prophesies that have went forth concerning the promise of the harvest coming in....we understand that people are the harvest....

In my readings this week, I was reminded of lesson from Francis Frangipane outlined in his book- The Three Battlegrounds. He teaches that a part of being a believer is to be UNOFFENDABLE. No, this is not a word, but the principle is key. The bible states in Matthew 24:10 AMP
"And then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert [Him Whom they ought to trust and obey] and will stumble and fall away and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred."

Some questions to ponder: Can you say that when people come at you- you can give up your right to be right? Can you stop seeing "attacks" that are not there? And even if they are there- what will you do to heap the coals of fire on their head? Will you allow yourself to be corrected? Will you stand and face your own attitude issues? Can you go to your brother or sister as outlined in Matthew 5? Or will you allow yourself to be delivered, set free, and unoffendable? Will you seek the Lord for the most excellent way in dealing with people? No, it doesn't mean being a punk or shrunken down, but it does mean giving up self for the sake of the call. Will you get out of the way and allow God to avenge you? Surely His way is better.

It is my sincerest prayer that all of us find our way in Jesus to be unoffendable so that we can be effective for the Kingdom. Unoffendable allows believers to stop shooting each other and opens the door of unity.

~Meekness is surely NOT for weaklings~

Pray and Complain about the President?

Lately, I have been seeing a lot of criticism concerning President Obama. It is one thing to disagree, but it is something else to be nasty and outright ugly, condescending and/or disrespectful. Where is the light of God in that? The older people used to say that if you had nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all!

It never ceases to amaze me that believers do more talking than praying. If believers could take that energy and that power and use it for good- perhaps the world would be better. Perhaps the enemy's voice wouldn't be so loud in his ear!

How is it that you can tear down a person in one post and then post your love of God in the next one? Give me a break! Early in 2012, God spoke to me about him. He said that the President belonged to him. We have no idea what it is like being the President and most of us will never know. We can disagree with him, but whether you voted for him or not, keep your mouth off him. God tells us to pr...ay even for our enemies (Matthew 5:44), why is this commandment so hard?

*Disclaimer: I have indeed complained about a President in my younger days, but God told me to stop it...repent and pray.

What is wrong with believers today is that they are too busy trying to legislate morality. Get to the ROOT of the problem! Worried about abortions? Get to the communities and show these children the power that they walk in to love and respect themselves! Love these children into abstinence and protection.

This is not a message of condemnation, but a message of provocation to see the hypocrisy of it all. How can you love a God that you do not see, but hate your brother? (1 John 4:20). He belongs to God, so if you have an issue with him, take it to the Father and stop it with the poisonous word acid. Sticks and stones break bones and words hurt to the core.

Letting Go......

Sometimes I really regret the things I've done wrong.... Lord knows I have done what I can to reconcile my past..a gentle reminder from a loving sister admonished me to remember that we are free from the past.....

That's the truth.... as long as we have turned away (repented) we are indeed free! Sometimes people want to keep us in places that God has redeemed us from...sometimes bridges just burn and it's okay. But my statement below puts it all into perspective for me...

It comes a time where you have to refuse to allow a fraction (past) of your life, dictate or overshadow the rest of it. #finishSTRONG

Cannot change the past, but we can use it as a learning tool for the future. Be blessed.....

Love,
A repentant and fully redeemed servant of the most high God!

Losing some battles but winning the War!

Last night as I was playing Words with Friends, I took a look at my stats. I had lost quite a few games in the past week or so. My mind took a parallel look at my life and for a second, I begin to focus on my losses. Sometimes when your life is not going in the direction that you thought it should, it is easy to get discouraged. Our plan is great, but God's is greater. Hence my post from earlier this morning.

In the game, one of my opponents pretty much said, "give up," but I would not and I continued to the end. I lost that game but was comforted in the fact that I endured to the end. My parallel is that there are indeed some people who are praying, wishing, and plotting your demise. There are some failures that will occur in life.  There is no stopping this fact of life; but if God is for us- who can be against us?

The gentle voice of God told me to look at the top of the application, where I am sitting at the top of the leaderboard even with all of the losses. He said that our lives are like that. We sometimes look at the losses, but we have to look up to see that we are still winning despite of it all. We have to stop looking at our losses and take the "birds-eye" view of our lives and situations. We have been through some tough times, but we are still overcomers.

Key thoughts to take with you always:
~Remember who you are.
~Remember Whose you are.
~We operate and function from a Kingdom perspective. We have access to resources beyond our wildest imagination (spiritual and natural).
~We keep our eyes on the Master planner and architect of our lives.

Our latter is indeed going to be better than our former. Receive it. Believe it. Stand on it.

Be blessed on purpose! Love you to life, for life!

The Dream: Fifty Years Later

Fifty years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave the famous "I have a dream" speech at the largest demonstration to date at Nation's capital. That speech  placed him among the ranks of men who have shaped America.

I learned that Mahalia Jackson encouraged him to improvise the Dream speech while he was on stage.

Fifty years is a long time. Thankful that we are not where we used to be and hopeful for where we will be, but as I look around- I'm concerned about where we are and how to get to a better future. I could list all of the stats that show disparities among blacks and other minorities, but we know that we have a long way to go.

As with every killing and act of wrong doing, I know that it breaks God's heart...I often wonder what Dr. MLK would say about Treyvon Martin, racial profiling, sagging pants, the use of the "N" word in ANY capacity, the noticeable disparities in pay & opportunities that still exist....and I could add more things to the list...

It is my prayer that we can all (or more of us) start to operate from a position of what we have in common versus our differences. I pray that we can erase racism....ignorance is no longer an excuse that we can tolerate. We have to all do our part.

Be blessed on purpose!

Children: Our Responsibility and Future

We love the children!

It is so easy to get caught up in the mindset that life is easy for our children, but we have to remember that they have the same struggles that we had as well as a few we didn't. Self esteem,  confidence,  subjects in school we hated or didn't do well in.....and the era of technology that makes bullying quick, recurrent, and widespread.

Here are some tools to assist:

1. Pray for your children often. As their parent, it's important to pray for them because your words are a powerful force in their lives.

2. Teach your children how to infuse the Word of God into their daily lives. As an example, in our Bible study, we spoke about the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Each child was given a fruit to work on that we knew they needed to work on and gave instructions on how to hear God show them how to navigate situations where this fruit would be needed.

3. Establish a daily routine...children based on age need a certain amount of sleep. They need regular meal times..they need exercise daily......it's hard sitting in a class ALL day...that's why Charlie Brown's teachers sounded like that.... (joke).

4. Pick a time where you can listen to their school stories...this is a good time to hear areas for growth and infusion/adjustment of godly principles and moral awareness.

5. Make homework and some level of reading a priority. In our home...grab a snack...and hit the books..

6. Be a safe place for them....what are your plans if they suddenly need something or you need to get to them? We cannot stand by as parents and say..."oh well." God has entrusted them to you! Check their phones...their social media; etc. It's okay to be a stalker in this case. Most of you remember the event where we had to deal with that on FB. Parents, we have to be diligent and aware.

7. See your children everyday before they leave the house...look them in their eyes...some days, I fail at this because I'm in another part of the house and I yell "love you! Have a great day!"..etc etc...

8. Speak life into them....use your words to equip them, edify them, build their confidence, and launch them into destiny. Regularly. Daily.

No parent is perfect and I don't have perfect children. I pray for parents and teachers often.. God wants us to be good stewards over everything He has entrusted us with. Especially our children. They are worth our 100% effort and remember......they are our future!

Feel free to post other items below that are helpful tools to others. Some of these are just my thoughts and recommendations. Tweak them for your family...Be blessed on purpose!

Where's My Perfect Gift, God?

Where's My Perfect Gift, God??

"Every good gift and every perfect ([a]free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse]." -James 1:17 (AMP).

Did you know that you are God's gift?

There was a time where I was called to help a person, but they rejected my help. The "package" (me) wasn't wrapped the way they liked it. It was my sincere desire to help lighten their load, but I wasn't good enough. At least I thought...until I asked for release....God's words to me: "Daughter, you are a gift....everyone has the option to accept or reject a gift...just like they will choose to accept or reject my son, Jesus." And with that, I was released into peace.

Many complain about God does not send what is needed, but could it be that it was rejected?  Was it too old? Too young? Too tall? Too mouthy?

-You do NOT dictate the gift details to God; He chooses the person and/or details of your deliverance/provision. Jesus spit in some dirt and put it on a man's eyes for healing (John 9:6). Was that required? Probably not, but your job is to receive what you need.

~Get what you need no matter what it looks like!~

Be blessed!

It's in the Genes!

Some time ago my daughter was admiring the length and strength of my nails and said, "I wish my nails would grow like that..." I held my hands close to hers and said...you got it, know why? Cause it's in the genes baby! Now, they've grown long and strong...she came home the other day and told us that someone asked her if they were real- to which she replied, "of course, because it's in my genes!" Haha..

And so it is in the Kingdom of God. When we accept Him as our savior- we take on His spiritual DNA. Romans 8:14-15 tells us: "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father."

God's DNA gives us: holiness, righteousness, love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance just to name a few.

So, when adversity comes your way- declare the power of God that lives on the inside of you. God's spiritual DNA transcends any boundaries and His unrelenting love is unconditional.

~What's in YOUR genes? I'm grateful for the spiritual DNA of God! ~

Keep Your Pearls

A few days ago...I was trying to explain (unsuccessfully) how God was repositioning me. I began to get frustrated, but realized that it was futile. This well meaning person just did not see that God's plan in this season is the OPPOSITE of conventional wisdom.

Wisdom has taught me that there are some moments in time where only the Lord understands or there is a very tight knit group of people who can relate. He doesn't ever leave us stranded or alone.

So, do not get frustrated- just look up and say "FORWARD!"

Everyone wants to be understood..there's nothing wrong with that....Often, we operate out of the fact that we should be able to articulate what we're going through to any and everyone around us.....but sometimes being misunderstood ( and how its handled) is a part of the process of the deliverance to the next place.

No condemnation of yourself or others when misunderstood. Do not think you've slipped back into people pleasing or into dependency. It does not mean anything is wrong with YOU or THEM. It means that each person may be at different places in life.

The key is to recognize who is in your circle of understanding. The list is usually short. There are rare moments that it's just you and Jesus... I say rare because we are not islands unto ourselves.

Use wisdom. Just like pearls....time is precious. Use these situations to discern the difference and to learn how to focus on what has been set before you!

Be blessed on purpose!

A Life Lesson......Death comes for us all....

A Day In Life: After the sudden death of a cousin last week and my favorite aunt (her mom) in June...here's a few lessons I'd like to share with you:

1. No one knows the day or the hour...You do not know when your time is up.

2. Prepare accordingly. Planning help reduce the stress in a situation that's inherently stressful. Well, as much as you can. Sometimes life doesn't fit into our neat little boxes. See number 3.

3. No bickering about what a person SHOULD have done. Decide whether you can, will, or should participate/contribute.  Stick to the task at hand and learn the lesson.

4. Have meaningful and communicative relationships. Stop putting off calls and always make sure that the ones you love know it.

5. Remember that life is short. Love hard. Live life. Play!  Have fun! Write that book. See that movie! Dance in the rain! Stop waiting for the "right time." There isn't one anyway.

God is Faithful

All: It is understandable to have heavy hearts....my mind flashed to my own sons who wear hoodies but are great children.

This could have been one of them easily. This justice system needs a complete overall..... Police can't even shoot an unarmed citizen....still not understanding why he didn't stay away as instructed by 911. But only the three of them know the real truth.

It is my tearful prayer that the Martin family receives a supernatural peace that surpasses understanding. Only God knows the real truth. Thus as Kingdom citizens, we are called to pray for our loved ones and our enemies....

This should be our wake up call..if this is outrageous to you, then its time to be outraged about the murders within our own communities across this country. Take your communities back. Get active. Know where your children are. Go to schools and sit in classes. What positive action will you take in your outraged response to this trial?

Day by Day..

There are some seasons that are tougher than others. Often, He is teaching us to trust. In Him. Only. Exclusively. No plan other than His.

It is during this season that He gives us just enough light for the step that we are currently standing on. Sometimes it's day by day or moment by moment. We have to surrender our issues, worries, & concerns to Him and let Him really be a place of rest for us. He wants it all!

Matthew 6:34 KJV "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

Be blessed on purpose!

Moving Forward in the Storm

Move Forward! Last Friday, it was a rare morning where all of us were in the vehicle together. It was storming pretty bad here....complete with strong thunder and lightning. As we were going through the storm, it looked awful outside....I was singing and praying quietly.

Out loud, I said..."it's always like this....we're experiencing a tough storm right here, but we'll get to our destination and the sky will be clear with a kiss of sun across it." Next, I heard the Lord say..."And so it is in the spiritual as well..."

Do not let the storms of life distract you or deter you...keep moving through.......God keeps us in every situation....its tough, but temporary. He keeps us in valley and on the mountain top! He is more than able!

Look up.....Walk through.....Keep Moving forward!

Giving Up Too Soon...

It is my truest belief that we give up on each other WAY to easily. More than likely it's because of a memory problem and/or a self-centered problem....... After all that I have THOUGHT, said, done, been through...and watch this:  TOOK OTHERS THROUGH...it takes a lot for me to just write a person off.

Let me say that the above is my stance now. Most of you who have known me for awhile understand that I was quite the opposite. But God!

Why? Cause God didn't write me off nor did He give up on me. Matter of fact- He gave me a "hope and future." We are to follow His example and let Him guide us..Ask God....what can I do? Ask Him how can you help? Don't just look at them on the ground or step over them and not offer to help...

~Sometimes you have pray people through......Sometimes you release people, but you do not write them off.....Sometimes we need to walk them through the journey.....Be led of God in all your actions.

Have a blessed day on purpose!

Thoughts on Recent Legislations in DC

Legislation in DC: Here is my stance about all of it....We cannot solve a spiritual problem with laws. The church has gotten lazy and tried to legislate morals. If the Body was functioning properly- this world would be different.

~WE HAVE TO STOP MAJORING ON THE MINORS AND MINORING ON THE MAJORS!~ We have to get to the root of the problem and stop being reactive!

Most people don't understand ...that our fight is NOT in Washington. ....it's on the streets....in our communities...in our homes....in our families..what they (DC) do is simply a manifestation of what we've FAILED to do as the Body. This does not mean that we turn a blind eye to what is happening in DC, but it does mean that we need to operate in the strategic function of the Kingdom. Believers!! Get in the Kingdom position! #Matt6:33-God first! #kingdomstrategy #focus #uprooting

Paula Deen

I believe that we are making too much out of this Paula Deen issue. Here's my take:

1. What she did was wrong. She will (and is currently) suffer the consequences.
2. What she said was wrong. She will (and is currently) suffer the consequences for those as well.
3. The truth is, we all (all cultures and races) have said, thought and treated someone with a bit of racism no matter how pure we THINK we are.
... 4. Until black people can stop using the *N* word as a term of endearment or substituting *nucca or *ninja, we are no better than Paula Deen. She just got caught on TV. I never understood the use of it in music or in greeting each other because really what you are saying is, "what's up stupid/ignorant person?" How is that uplifting or encouraging or loving? This is why I choose to not use the term AT ALL, although I have used it.

If she is a bigot or racist, do not support her stuff. Maya Angelou said it best- "When a person shows you who they are- believe them."

We have to give Paula credit for at least coming clean to say what she did and being transparent about what she did because honestly- she holds more credit for doing this than the Superstar, Super Duper pastors that get on TV, give a generic "my bad" and then continue to receive your financial support and your time.

We need to forgive her, let her suffer the consequences of her actions, and take a LONG, HARD, and STRONG look at our communications in our minds, hearts, and in those places that are not recorded on TV.

Racism is not acceptable on any level, but if we all told the truth and looked in the mirror- we'd remember to remove the plank out of our eye so that we can clearly see how to deal with the speck in our brother's eye.

Forward!

The word FORWARD has been resonating strongly for the past few days.

Do NOT let the past stay on auto feedback like a broken record. Acknowledge the past. Learn from the past and be renewed by the transformation of your mind. How? By saying, "Yep. I did it, but it is done now...how can I move on?" If forgiveness is needed, do it! Whatever the action is needed, do it!

This is something that I know. I have made mistakes, I have failed, I have made BIG messes. However, God still comes in and takes care of us. We may have some pain, but He still brings us out. Do NOT sit in regret or condemnation; that keeps the broken record playing.

Trust that nothing that has happened or that is currently happening surprises God! But know that He is loving enough to bring you out even if you made a mess as long as you bring it to Him.

Trust that God can make all things new and begin to follow Him FORWARD. Be blessed on purpose and in movement forward!

Trust Fall!!!

There's a game that my sons learned about in school. It's called trust fall. A trust fall is where a person walks up to another person and falls- trusting that the person will catch them.

This game requires a few things:
  1. A person willing to fall
  2. A person willing to lose control of themselves
  3. A person willing to relinquish that control into the hands of another
My sons, who are both well over six feet tall, are often the "catchers" of people wanting to do trust falls. A couple of reasons for that...they are awesome gentlemen who are more than likely not going to let someone fall. Second, they are big enough to catch anyone in their school for the most part.

God's trust fall is recorded in Matthew 28-29: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

God wants us to rest in Him- completely. When the storms of life rage hard and there seems no end in sight- He wants us to throw our hands up, and say- "Trust Fall!!" We have to be willing to let go and relinquish that control unto Him. He is more than capable to hold our weight and burdens.

Who's ready to lift their hands and say, "Trust fall!!" I am! Be blessed on purpose!

Mouth and A Wisdom!

Yesterday, I chuckled at someone who tried to passively aggressively attack me. He said..."surely if LaQuetta can understand, everyone else can..." Interestingly enough and without a beat, I responded with, "My intelligence is above average, so you should probably find another gauge." Everyone exploded into laughter. He tried to bait me- but it didn't even phase me. Most of you who have known me for some years know that this would have ended differently if God had not caught me.

As I went home and reflected upon my day, I was like- wow, God!! I am really free! Jesus!! Thank you!!
There was a time in my life where I would literally plan out conversations with other people in my head. This was a part of my strategy to make sure that no one would have the upper hand.

This was a great plan and defense mechanism, well...in my mind- until I ran across this scripture:
Luke 21: 14-15: Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

This was like super liberation for me because I learned to trust God with my responses and He has not failed me yet. Do not take the evil of others and let their actions dictate your peace. Will you let Him help you respond?

Note: I am not telling you these stories to brag, but to show you that overcoming is possible. Surely if He can deliver me- there is hope for everyone. Be Blessed!!

Who Came Up With That?

There is a saying that is bounced around that says: "God never puts more on us than we can bear." I am here to tell you that this has got to be one of the biggest fallacies that I have ever come across since I have been a believer. I have used it before in the past as well. In all honesty, I told my sister/friend this week that this statement is a "bunch of crap." And then I launched into a speech about who make this stuff up? This statement probably came from some well meaning soul who was at a loss of words when comforting someone. We live and we learn.

This week, I received notice that I was going to be taking an involuntary & unpaid vacation (furlough), my car broke down and its a huge bill, and to top it off, my favorite aunt who served in a maternal role in my life died this week. All of this happened within three days. It was more than I could bear. I was exhausted. I still helped others, because the train doesn't stop.

Grateful for His grace because I was Not myself. I felt like Kuzco from the Emperors groove in this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhOrxkGlLDM. Or for those who don't watch cartoons...it feels like I was the little mountain man on the show, the Price is Right, when he falls over the cliff (I can still hear that cheesy music).  Or a wrestler who needs to come out of the game...I had tapped out.

Does that mean that I did something wrong because I just told you that it was more than I can bear? Nope. Why? Because God does NOT always rescue us out of situations. He promises to be with us always. He goes through WITH us and walks us through.

So, what happens? God tells us the answer in 2 Corinthians 13:9 " For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection." This is a part of the growth process and the "perfecting" that we experience season to season as believers.

If we never had more than we can bear, we would never know the end of our humanness and the beginning of God's strength, mercy, and grace. We would never bring our burdens to Him or reach out to Him, because we would think that we could handle it all.

This week, I am extremely grateful for my husband, my children, and friends who have prayed for me, listened to me, made me leave the house for walks to be silly, making me PB &J sandwiches, dried my tears, cracked jokes and the calls bestowing love on me.

Be Blessed and remember that trials and situations are inevitable. However, we can rejoice because God promises in 2 Corinthians 12:10: "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Saved and Free, But Human Indeed!! #graceabound

Be more like Christ!

Some phrases that I have heard Christians/Believers/Followers of Christ use over the years....I've even used one of these myself..

-Don't make me put Jesus on the shelf...

-My name ain't Jesus.... (I used to say this a lot)

-If Jesus could just turn His head for a minute...

As representatives of Christ, we have got to do better.....He died so that we can have the grace to be like Him. I am not saying that people are going to be perfect, but we should intentionally and consistently be mindful of WHO we belong to and WHO we represent. It is NOT about US. It is about the effectiveness of our witness as we walk in the light of Christ.

Make a choice today to be transformed into the image of Christ!!!

The Journey: Focus and Move Forward

Not too long ago, I was feeling down because of some untruths that had been spoken about me.  I've been shut out of people's lives after they have gotten strong enough to move on and was called "weak and needy."

Recently, I have been processing and accepting my gifts and callings. As I was discussing my acceptance, one of my brothers in the Lord told me that as a sent one, one key to remember is that you're not sent to everyone.

That was great advice.....for everyone.....remember to let doors close and embrace the open doors. Celebrate your life and the people who accept all of you and will love you through.

Be yourself....no one else can or should even try...Focus on that and move forward. God makes all things new.

Perseverance in Prayer

Most of you have noticed that lately I've been talking about distractions, perseverance (keep standing!) and its been on my mind to speak about prayer again...

Lately, people come along and want to do what I call "drive by praying." A quick prayer to say that they have done the job. A check mark on their list if you will. One..."He's coming in a Hyundai" and the job is done.

Where did such a foolish mindset come from? I told one of my friends earlier today that blame the microwave. When ovens were our source of heat, it took some time and advanced preparation....microwaves have caused us to want everything "quickly and immediately." We're spoiled because everything can be ready in 1-2 minutes. Computer speeds are faster. Commutes are faster. Cars are faster. We have "fast food" restaurants. But faster is not always better.

God says...."let patience have its perfect work...." -James 1:4.

Romans 5:3-5 KJV "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."

Some things will not come quickly or easily. We are not meant to just pray for people once or twice. People are broken. We need someone to walk out the journey with us and in prayer for breakthrough.

Prayer is our communication with the Lord. It is our conversation. It doesnt not meant to be elegant or rhyme or fall into perfect soliloquy. It is the genuine heart communication to God. Your desires....your fears...your worries...your concerns for others.

We have to war for each other; wars are not won in a day or in a sentence. We have to apply diligence, persistence, and patience. We need to be watchmen for each other- ready to stand in the gap for ourselves and others. What assignments have God given you to keep before His throne? If you do not know....Ask Him. If you know and have been distracted....ask for forgiveness, turn away from distractions and continue down the path.

May this Blogpost be a blessing to you.

Focus!!!

Lately, I have not been posting as much. There's a lot going on with me and my sphere of influence. No worries...it just requires my full attention and less time on social media.

However, I wanted to share with you that there's one word that has been resonating deeply within my spirit.

That word is "Distraction(s)."

What is it that you are supposed to be focused on that you have put aside? What shiny objects have gotten your attention that the task at hand has been delayed.

Hear me now: WHO is distracting you? You know..."aww- you can do that later.." but deep inside you feel a pull to go higher or to keep pressing in?

God is shifting everything, but I see people specifically. Allow Him to move those people and things that will hinder your shift; you'll be glad that you did.

Often, we ask God..."what happened to this, Lord or what happened to that, Lord..." but, if you're honest with yourself,  you know you haven't done the first five things He told you to do.... ((ouch)).

A prayer: Dear Heavenly Father....we thank You for Your mercy and grace. We appreciate Your kindness and love. We thank You for being the God of 2nd, 22nd, and 222nd chances. We declare and decree today that we will be committed to focusing on those things that You have set before us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Be blessed on purpose!!! Choose Happiness!!! And walk in your God given authority!!!

Relationships II

Continuing in the vein of shifting of relationships, one of the strongest lessons that I have learned is that God never wastes anything in our lives.

Every situation, circumstance, or issue gives insight to our heart. If one takes the time for self inspection, these things provide an excellent opportunity for deliverance to another place in maturity as well as an expansion of our tolerance and the stretching of faith.

There have been several times recently where God has awakened me to FORGIVE and BLESS those that dropped me, wronged me, and left me. This is His Word. I can attest that it was the combination of these two things that catapulted me into another place of healing and moving on.

Healing through forgiveness and blessing your enemies (intentional or not) leaves the door open for reconciliation in the future. Not all of the people who treated me badly are spawn of the enemy; some of them are God's children as well. Sometimes, hurt people- hurt people. Then hurt people are healed and need the same reconciliation and grace that we all need at some point.

So, consider this post today and allow God's word to soak deep into your spirit. Forgive your enemy. Bless & Pray for your enemy. Love your enemy. Allow God to use you as a mighty tool of reconciliation with his guidance and discernment.

The Journey: Relationships

Lately, there seems to be a shift in my own life concerning relationships, so I wanted to share this with you all.  My list of friends looks totally different than it did this time last year and it is almost unrecognizable from four years ago. This is a season of readjustment and realignments in all of our relationships.

It is great time to take the "birds eye" view of your life and ask God who belongs where. Everyone should have an inner circle of people (or person) that stands with you in a way that others can and will not. This will be a reciprocal relationship.

The Lord showed me a specific details about a person whose motive was wrong towards me and I completely missed all of the signs because we had been friends so long. I was carrying the relationship and when I stopped calling or making contact- it all stopped. This hurt for a great while and that's okay; I learned a lot from this process including that it is okay to walk away/let go from unsuitable relationships as well as get in touch with my humanness on another level. This was indeed difficult for me  because like with everything I do- I go hard. I love hard, so letting go is hard as well.
Well.....it used to be.

As for me, I am learning to be grateful for departing relationships. Sometimes they can seem like we have failed along the way, this may or may not be the case- but when the relationship transitions- move with it. It is okay to mourn the loss- just don't drown in it...

One key lesson is to remember to be careful as to not block new relationships based on the old ones. So grateful for the new and old relationships!

A Testimony

A Testimony:

Last night, my mind drifted off to time in my past where I was not walking with the Lord as I should...matter of fact, I was so deep in sin that I cannot even find the words to decribe the depths of my "wretchedness."

I had been in a car accident....the car was hit super hard by some old car that was built when cars were built "Ford tough."  As the car hit me, I heard the Lord clearly say to me..."You will walk away from this....Daughter, come back to me...this is a wakeup call..." After impact, I sat with portions of the window and windshield in my lap shattered.

Later, the policeman said if it were not for the safety bar on the driver side, I would have been seriously hurt. To which I replied- "Nope, if it were not for God..."

I  walked away from that accident with no scratches and no injuries....thank you Lord. The song resonates so deeply in my spirit: "Great is Your mercy towards me Jesus...Your lovingkindness towards me....I am so grateful that He was patient and kind towards me. This is why I do my best to give this to others as well. Have a blessed day on purpose!

Uniquely Created- Do You!

Did you know that God needs your uniqueness in the earth? When He created each of us, He broke the mold. There will never be another you in the earth. Yes, there may be a similarity, but never a duplication.

Psalms 139:14 states " I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

****Fearfully in the Hebrew word that is... "Yare." It means “to be afraid, stand in awe, fear”. When used of an exalted person it means “standing in awe”. This implies honor, reverence and respect for the person. To be “fearfully” made means to be “awesomely” made.

****Wonderfully in the Hebrew is translated as the word "Pele." It means unique, set apart, uniquely marvelous. This word could translate equally as miraculously, magnificently, amazingly, fantastically, or marvelously.

Understand your worth through the eyes of Your creator. You are awesomely made, unique, and marvelous. That is your inheritance and your identity. Walk with your head high and operate as a unique child of the King. Respect Your Uniqueness. Respect the Uniqueness of others. Be awesome. Be You. Do You. On Purpose. Make a difference where you are; the world needs you and not a replica or copy of someone else. Be blessed on purpose.

Word Matters

It is my belief that what we say about ourselves and others is important; especially as parents and leaders.

Scripture tells us that there is POWER in our words... (Proverbs 18:21). We can use it to speak death or life. Scriptures (1 Peter 2:9) tells us that we are a royal priesthood; a chosen generation, a holy nation, and a peculiar people. As a child of God, we have access to His promises. We declare (positive affirmation) and/or decree (command, ordain) the promises of His word as well as those things He commands us to speak.

So....understand the delegated power of declaration and decrees. It is simply a submitted son or daughter of God speaking His word, affirmations, and commands into the earth through understanding of His word by relationship with Him. I use them a lot- now with purpose. However, we can inadvertently declare or decree- example- if we keep saying we are sick and tired- chances are great that we will be sick and tired. Remember a time where I said that something was making me sick....well I couldn't shake this cold, my husband told me to be mindful of my words and as soon as I stopped saying it- I began to get better..

Think on these things as we form words for use today. Speak life to people and death to the things that need to die.

Be blessed on purpose!

Perspective

Perspective: How you look at a matter determines whether you are a victim or an overcomer. As I was visting home this weekend, my husband and I traveled along some of the places where I had experienced great pain. As I was visiting one of my aunts, we spoke about some things in the past. In each of these scenarios, I felt peaceful. I told my aunt that I had reconciled my past and that it has no hold over me.

It took some time, but I realized that each and every event is a part of my story. While some events are unpleasant, unfair, and downright evil- it is still a part of my story. It is not the end, nor does it determine the destiny that God has for me. However, it did shape the woman that I am...And this weekend was one of many reminders that it is important to remember that my entire life was not made up of tragedy.

As I look over the time, Romans 8:28 has come alive in my life. Romans 8:28 states that "All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and who are called according to His purpose." All things have truly worked out for me. God sent some awesome people into my life that have planted and watered the seeds of God's power. Seeds of a hopeful future. Seeds of a life beyond negative circumstances. Seeds of understanding and love through the manifestation of God's Kingdom family- what family should really be.

Today, chose to look through the lens of a positive way forward. A positive perspective changes the atmosphere around you. There was this rhyme I remember while growing up that goes.."You are what you eat from your head down to your feet.." I would say you are what you see from your head down to your feet....As I begin to agree with God's word and His promises about me- my life began to change. Once I stopped telling myself that my past was a hinderance instead of a part of a story- I became free. Once I understood the power of an overcomer- my mind, my life, my sphere of influence increased greatly. So, what lens are you looking through today? You make the choice for your own life and your family's life. Speak life to the dry bones around you! Refuse the enemy's tactic of being a victim or martyr. Make the choice to be happy, live free, and walk in the abundance of peace that God so freely gives.

Blessings!

One History One Fight

"I long for the time when all of the human history is taught as one history because it really is one history. ." - Maya Angelou

So do I, Ms. Angelou, So do I...

Earlier this month, I was asked to give the invocation for my organization's Black History program. One of the key things I remember praying (I hardly ever remember) is....we thank you Lord that we are not where we used to be, but we know that we are far from where we need to be..." The city's mayor thanked me for saying that and reitered this in his speech as well as encouragement for all of us to do our part.

As we close another celebration of our culture, my prayer to God is that one day reconciliation is not just a token word- but an action seen throughout the entire human race....

Often I have heard people say that February was selected because it was the shortest month....Here's a black history fact and myth debunker: Originally Black history was celebrated for a week- established by Carter G. Woodson.  February was selected/recommended because it is the month that holds the birthdays of the two facilitators of black freedom- Mr. Frederick Douglass and President Abraham Lincoln.

Research and truth will be key factors in reconciliation. Let's do our due diligence. Be blessed!

Spiritual Parenthood is not meant to be a Ponzi Scheme!!!

For my FB Believers: This has been on my mind concerning spiritual parenthood. This is for all of the people as well as the leaders called to be God's elect leadership; responsible for the maturity of the body of Christ to be reconciled to Him.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 4:15 KJV
"For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel." This is my indication that we will have parents amongst us.

However, I must tell everyone that if money is a REQUIREMENT to be associated with a spiritual parent or covering- *Imma* need you to run. Fast. This type of behavior my brothers and sisters is pimping at its finest. Spiritual witchcraft and manipulation. These people are not trusting God for finances- because God does not beat us over the head to do ANYTHING. My children do NOT pay me. Honestly, with God as our lead- our parenting is PRICELESS.  The same goes for spiritual parenthood.

Parenting requires relationship. Relationships are built on time spent together. Sending someone a check is not parenting relationship- that's just being associated with a name. This is cheapening God's vast treasures to a dollar bill. Wrong answer....

If we teach our children (natural and spiritual) HONOR, TRUE GIVING, GRACE, and LOVE as well as how to hear the HOLY SPIRIT for themselves.....the body could hear how to give appropriately.

Giving is important and necessary. However, we are called to give willingly. My brother in Christ always tells me that charity begins at home. If it comes down to your rent or a church payment- pay your rent. That doesn't require a prayer vigil or counseling; use common sense.

This is not to be a full covering of this issue, but merely an educational warning to think or rethink your position on this matter.. Be blessed, FB.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness: It has been on my heart to write about this subject for the last few days. I have been avoiding it because it's hitting close to home these days. And since I was tagged in a post about forgiveness hours after I told God that I would be obedient- I am sure that is no coincidence. So here we go...

Forgiveness is not easy. The first step is the hardest because it is an admittance that hurt has occurred and that a weak point was found. Human beings have an aversion to being vulnerable. This is not about the "you stepped on my shoe" kind of forgiveness. This is the hard stuff- "you hurt my heart to the core" kind of forgiveness.

For me, I have been experiencing some deep hurts and while I have forgiven on one level, there are residual issues that God is still working out in me. I am so glad for a strong prophetic presence in my life that can see my "blind spots." With the exception of a few people in my life...my issue looks like this: I am okay with forgiving you. We can move on. But I have closed the door to my heart to you and I will not open it back up. However, God is calling me to open my heart because I am called to be like Him. To be like Him means that I have to leave the door open to real reconciliation as He would. I want to see God more that I want to hold on to hurt, but some days, I am thinking.."man, this is a bunch of crap.." Now, this does not mean that you let people walk all over you, but hurt people hurt people. Just as we change and evolve, we need to be hopeful and accepting that others can change too. Seeing a person commit and execute a complete 180 is the richest kind of reward in life. It is this type of forgiveness that allows you to love again and not build a wall of protection around your heart.

There is an old saying (and a bumper sticker) that says, "I (Christian) am not perfect, I am forgiven.." However, we forget that this is a two fold sentiment. We are to forgive others as we have been forgiven. God does not remember our sins and after we are forgiven, we are reconciled to Him as if it never happened. This is the kind of love that the body is called to replicate in the earth. Peacemaking forgiveness with a side of unconditional love that can only be accomplished in God's power. Blessings!

***My thanks to Apostle Ivory Hopkins for his obedience to the spirit of the Lord because I am sure that I would still try to delay writing this post. (LOL)

The Marriage Journey IV

One of the most glaring lessons that I have learned is the quest to becoming a whole me.

Unfortunately, I was not a whole me as a single young woman before I married Terrey. Of course, I thought that I was, but in reality I was not and this caused unnecessary issues that others can now gleam from if one chooses to listen. So grateful for Terrey loving the "hell" out of me.  I am speaking about foundation issues stemming from childhood or early adult trauma, not necessarily maturity issues- people grow and mature together in marriage.

So, my advice is to remember that while marriage is a partnership, each person is should be committed to their own growth with your partner as a walking companion to assist you on your journey. If you are single, it is so important that you take this time to focus on you. Marriage is hard and takes work. One needs to be ready to give all.

Much love.Hope you enjoyed this quick journey and that I have said something that may have blessed you! ♡♥♡♥♡♥

The Marriage Journey III

Today's Marriage Journey:
As I pondered what to say tonight, I ran across this quote:  "Grace ends competition in marriage." Paul Zahl
Reading thid, I realized that I have learned that the purpose of a marriage covenant under God is to be an illustration of His relationship with us.

Grace is a foundational element of this illustration. Grace is unmerited favor. It cannot be bought or earned. It is freely given by the Creator to us and so it should be amongst each other....

Grace in marriage says....I am going to allow you room to grow without judgement. Grace (and love) says in marriage also says that we do not keep score of wrong doing or mistakes. In our lives, grace is the room for God to deliver us collectively and individually instead of us trying to deliver each other. Whew. Selah. Be blessed!

The Marriage Journey II

Today's Marriage Journey: One key lesson that I have learned over the course of my marriage is that we choose our course and internal roles with God's guidance. We do not need anyone's opinion impeding on our family.

It is a true statement that until someone walks in your footsteps, they will never know your story. We have been judged and looked down upon by family and friends because of how we conduct our home. This has saddened me deeply, but has taught me (us) how to stand on our beliefs regardless of what people say or think. The result will speak for itself. This tree will bear forth AWESOME fruit..

We are born to pioneer, to transcend, and to shape our own communities. Our marriage  functions based on our strengths and weaknesses; to leverage what we have and make it work for us. The world does not tell us what to do and how to be. We are free in this regard and encourage others to do the same. The advice is to do what functions best in your household because home should be a safe haven and peaceful abode. Agree on a path for household duties...who will work..homework duties..etc etc and while counsel is good- remember that it is the two of you that need to have peace- everyone else gets to take a backseat.  Be blessed!

The Marriage Journey

The Journey: Terrey and I will celebrate our anniversary on Thursday. We often joke about the fact that if our marriage can make it- any marriage can. While this a little joke- it's true.  When we tell our whole story...let's just thank the Lord for deliverance- until it's time to tell it.

So, in the true spirit of the original Journey series- I'd like to share a few things I've learned about marriage and relationships from MY perspective.

Today's Journey Post: Appropriate boundaries are underutilized and need to be discussed every so often. The opposite sex, children, friends, etc all need boundaries to protect your marriage. Marriage is your first priority human relationship. Boundaries with the opposite sex should take note that intimate conversations are a no go. Closed areas, private lunches, etc have no place with the opposite sex. When it comes to children (age dependent), quality is better than quantity. They need independence and both of you need a break from each other. Use wisdom. Boundaries are important. Talk about them often enough and be mindful of your mate's feelings.

Be Blessed!

Uniquely Created

A Journey Moment: There is room for everyone to be who they are. There is no need to compete with each other, specifically leaders and mature believers of Christ. It is sad and disappointing to see people hating or copying from others instead of being themselves.

God created each of us fearfully and wonderfully (unique). It is important for us to be ourselves and not try to be anyone or anything else. The reason why each of us was created uniquely is to display that uniqueness within your sphere of influence......

So, instead of worrying about what others are doing, copying the style of others, or snooping on FB pages to see what they are up to- try a new thing. Stop shooting them down, speaking negative words and/or sending word curses. Bless them. Honor them for being bold enough to step out. You have NO idea what it took for them to be there! And the behavior above can be felt by the ones trying to move forth. Why do we keep shooting our own?

The path to individual peace is being secure in who you are- set out to figure that out and stop shooting others. Picture each life as an individual as a piece of a puzzle. When a piece is missing,  the puzzle is not complete. Be a complete you and stop cheating the world! Be blessed!

Keep Focused

Today's Journey: I found myself frustrated because I was in a position where I was experiencing a lot of criticism, backbiting, and negativity towards me directly. So, praying- I told the Lord that there are too many to even try to explain. My understanding of His response: "Daughter, there comes a time where you have to mature and realize that you cannot respond to EVERY or even ANY of the naysayers in your life. Keep your focus on Me and what I have told you to do."

There comes a time where you have to create a tunnel vision approach to your life. It is important to have people around you who can hold you accountable, but there is a time that we need to let the words of others roll off our backs and keep moving.
The Word: "Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to mediate before what ye shall answer: for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist." -Luke 21:14-14.

Keep looking up to Him and Let your LIFE speak the volumes of the message that God has given you! Be blessed! .

Realistic Expectations

The Journey: One of the most interesting things I have learned is how to have the proper expectation in life. Often, I have seen that Americans have the mindset that someone owes them something. I believe that we are fed that lie in our youth. The truth I learned is that no one is going to give you anything on this earth.

Business owe you a paycheck after a period of performance. You are not necessarily going to make friends. And based on our economy, it should be known that business are out to make a profit and are looking in the best interest of that company. We are responsible for ourselves and we have to do what is best for ourselves. While I do believe that we are headed for a paradigm shift in this area, it is not here yet.

The biggest key I have learned in this area is that when people show you who they are (notice I said show and not tell), believe them. If they are liars, gossipers, or great people- then that is what they are. I have learned that proper expectations give you a dose of reality and assist you in maintaining a proper perspective. In other words, proper expectation keeps me out of denial and presents a realistic truth in my life that assists me in obtaining peace as well as proper vision & insight. Be blessed, FB.

Defense or Representation?

Often I have heard Christians say that God needs defending. You've got to be kidding me...I do not believe this to be true. It is one thing to stand for faith, but it is another to think that you need to defend God...I am talking about the kind of defending that is similar to defending a territory- a militant mindset.

Here are three key attributes of God that helps us to understand who He is......
  • Omnipresent: God is ever present in all places at all times
  • Omniscient: God is all knowing
  • Omnipotent: God is unlimited in power

There are many scriptures that tell us that God defends us..Psalms is full of them. However- I have yet to find one scripture where there is a requirement for us to defend Him. He is our creator- we need HIM to defend and cover US- not the other way around. Jesus did not even defend Himself!

Believers: God is not on our level. He has survived thousands of years without our "defending." The defending that people speak about has led to wars and other drama. God is not a gang member and His "set" doesn't need to "have His back.." We cannot take the ways of the world and apply it to His principles. We are the standard that the world should look to mimic. Sadly, the body is often mimicking the world.

Life Alert:  Through a barrage of incidents where I was misunderstood and misjudged, God showed me that I will not have time to defend myself- just as Jesus did not. This does not mean that one should not have a line of accountability. Everyone should have a inner circle of people that will keep them in line. But most importantly- one should be accountable to God. We have to be about the Father's business.

We are God's ambassadors (2 Cor 5:20) and we should operate as such. This does not mean roll over and die, but it means to live your life as His light. It is easy to go back and forth with people about defending God, but it takes concerted effort to go out and love the hell out of your enemies. If you are focusing on that, trust me that defending Him will take a back seat quickly.

Our requirement as His representative is to display His character, His will, and His mission. God is love and He expects that His love manifests itself through us as His royal priesthood. This representation is all the defense He needs from us.

Blessings!

In Too Deep To Stop Now

There is this song that my daughter had an interest in some time ago. The lyrics went something like this..."You're hot and you're cold; you're yes and you're no; you're in and you're out; wrong when it's right; black when it's white, etc.." One day, I was imitating the singer and messing with my daughter, when I had a biblical realization. God tells us to be one way. He would rather us be hot or cold, say yes or no, and not to be lukewarm. What do we do when something is lukewarm in our mouths? We want to spit it out. As our creator, we mimic Him in ways we don't even realize- God says the same in His word- lukewarm equates to being spewed out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16).

On a few occasions, many people have said to me that I am just "too holy" or "too deep" for them. It is/was not a compliment. It was meant to be a condescending remark to say that my behavior was not accepting to them or that I was too extreme. This conversation usually results from something that I have stated that I have changed. Examples: I stopped cursing. I talk about the Lord alot and how I can see Him at work in my life everyday. Note that there is an element of truth to their statements. With the exception of a few areas of my life, most people in my life can verify that I am an extreme person. When I was in the world- I shut clubs down, drank until the last drop, and dropped it like it was hot. There was no question about what I was doing.

Life Alert! God did not change my personality when I got off the wall; He merely delivered me and guided me in His way for His glory. Just as I was bold for the world- I am just as bold for the Lord.

While there was a transition period where God had to convince me to come off the wall, trust me- upon the realization that I was wrong, I was full speed ahead for Jesus. In saying that- the Lord tells us to be holy, for He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). This is not a question, but it is a fact- a commandment. If He tells us to do it, then apparently it is possible for us to do so. There are many scriptures that tell us to "go deep" and to "be holy" but I cannot find ANY scripture that says to stop being so holy.

If you find yourself running for Jesus and someone makes a comment about you being too deep, remember that the bible calls for us to be deep. The Lord commands us to be holy, just as He is holy. There are usually two reasons why this accusation presents itself. Pride and jealousy. It is the fact that they secretly admire the fact that you are walking with the Lord closely. It is easier to accuse than to ask you how you did it.

The first mistake that I made was to try and dumb it down to fit in. Nope. Didn't work. Even though it was only me trying to convince them that I was cool- I was not happy because it wasn't who I really was. Please do not try this at home. Do NOT try to dumb it down or fit in because God calls us a peculiar people! We are not meant to succumb to this type "peer pressure!" We all have areas that we need to work on. Get around people who have mastered this area and be humble enough to state that you need some help in this area!

My lesson learned was that I am in too deep to stop now! I have come too far from where I have started from and while it is not easy- the journey has been worth it.

Blessings be unto you!

Despise Not Small Beginnings

Hello Everyone,

Since this is my first blog publishing as well as the beginning of a new year, I thought it would be appropriate to write about new beginnings. Everyone looks forward to the new year. God's word tells us that He consistently does a new thing in our lives (Isa 43:19).

A lot of us suffered many losses in recent years. Whether it was death, tragedy, job loss, relationship loss, pay reductions, houses, divorce, or illness just to name a few. Many of felt like we had hit rock bottom and that life would never really be the same. However, our rock bottom is the beginning of a new chapter- a new beginning.

Towards the end of 2012, the Lord spoke to me and said "Despise not small beginnings.." Often, we think that small equals failure and that our ministries, businesses, or other areas in our lives are outside of His plan for our lives.  However, I would encourage you today that everything started somewhere! Despise not small beginnings because growth does not always happen overnight. Despise not small beginnings because you are setting a foundation for your next level. Despise not small beginnings because though your beginning was small, your latter end shall increase! (Job 8:7). There is no where to go but up!

May the Lord bless you in all of your endeavors in 2013!

Be Blessed!!
